Delta Air Lines Offers $30,000 Compensation to Passengers of Overturned Plane in Toronto

Delta Air Lines is offering $30,000 in compensation to each passenger aboard the plane that crashed and overturned in the snow while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday.

All 80 passengers and crew members survived the incident. While some were taken to hospitals, as of Wednesday morning, only one passenger remained hospitalized, according to Delta. The airline confirmed that 21 passengers sustained injuries and required medical attention.

A Delta spokesperson emphasized that the compensation offer is “unconditional” and does not affect passengers’ legal rights. However, the airline declined to disclose how many people had accepted the offer.

Aviation experts credited the flight crew and aircraft engineers for preventing fatalities, highlighting the swift actions of the flight attendants, who helped keep passengers calm and ensured a safe evacuation from the overturned plane.

The flight had departed from Minneapolis, USA, at 10:30 AM on Monday and was attempting to land in Toronto at approximately 2:15 PM local time when it unexpectedly overturned on the ground.
