Antisemitic Group Close to Shut Down Due to Lawsuits

A New York organization that funds anti-Israel activities across the U.S. claims its survival is at risk due to multiple lawsuits.

WESPAC, an organization based in Westchester County, acts as a financial conduit for prominent anti-Israel groups such as National Students for Justice in Palestine and Within Our Lifetime.

Following the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, Jewish organizations and members of Congress have increased scrutiny on WESPAC for its anti-Israel activities. One such lawsuit in New York court is going after WESPAC, NSJP, and the leader of Within Our Lifetime for damages related to protests at Columbia University.

WESPAC has issued an “urgent request” to its supporters for financial assistance to cover legal fees, stating that it is named in four separate lawsuits.

The organization warns that its future is in jeopardy, appealing for $90,000 from its supporters to help “keep WESPAC from collapse.”

In addition to these legal challenges, some members of Congress are calling for an investigation into WESPAC’s nonprofit status, citing concerns that its network includes groups that support Hamas, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization.

WESPAC functions as a fiscal sponsor for anti-Israel groups that lack their own nonprofit status. This setup allows WESPAC to receive and distribute tax-exempt donations on behalf of these groups without requiring them to disclose their financial details publicly.

Between September 2022 and August 2023, WESPAC reported nearly $2.4 million in revenue, according to the latest available tax filings. Over the years, the organization has sponsored more than a dozen anti-Israel groups across the U.S.

Increase the pressure until this group gets shut down.
