
Signs of Life Emerge for 10 Hostages in Gaza
In the past week several families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have received signs of life from their loved ones, providing a glimmer of hope amid the prolonged uncertainty. These updates have primarily come through testimonies from recently released hostages, shedding light on the conditions and well-being of those still in captivity.
The family of Yosef-Haim Ohana announced that they have received clear indications that he is alive. Similarly, the families of twins Gali and Ziv Berman, 27, have reported receiving signs of life from both brothers. Anat Angrest, mother of 21-year-old soldier Matan Angrest, confirmed receiving information about her son’s survival, noting that he is enduring harsh conditions.
The family of Omri Miran, 46, learned from a recently released hostage that Omri was alive and in good health as of July 2024. However, they remain concerned about his current state, given the time that has elapsed since the last update.
Additionally, the family of 23-year-old Eitan Mor, who was working as a security guard at the Nova music festival during his abduction, has received signs of life, bringing them a measure of comfort.
Recent releases have provided more detailed accounts of the conditions faced by hostages in Gaza. Idit Ohel, mother of 24-year-old Alon Ohel, shared that her son is being held in tunnels, deprived of sunlight, receiving minimal food, and suffering from untreated injuries, including shrapnel wounds that have led to partial blindness in one eye.
Similarly, Ziv Aboud, fiancée of hostage Eliya Cohen, reported that Eliya has been subjected to torture, is chained by the leg, receives minimal nourishment, and has lost significant weight during his captivity.
