Klal Yisrael Mourns: Funeral Procession Begins for the Bibas Family, Murdered in Gaza

Klal Yisrael stands in mourning today as thousands gather to accompany the funeral procession of the Bibas family—Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel—who were taken hostage by Hamas on Shemini Atzeres (October 7, 2023) and tragically murdered in captivity in Gaza. Their brutal fate has left an indelible mark on Am Yisrael, and their funeral has drawn an outpouring of grief and solidarity.

Crowds have already begun assembling along the planned route of the levayah, which will pass through several cities before reaching its final destination near the Gaza border. The procession commenced from Kfar HaMaccabiah in Ramat Gan, where family members set out to escort the niftarim. The aron will be transported from Rishon Lezion, passing through Yavne, Ashdod, and Ashkelon, before reaching the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council.

As the caskets make their way southward, many are expected to stand along the route, waving Israeli flags and holding placards, paying tribute to a family that has become a painful symbol of the horrific attack that befell Klal Yisrael.

The levayah itself will be held privately, with family and close friends in attendance. However, eulogies will be broadcast live at approximately 11:30 a.m., allowing the nation to join in the sorrow and honor the memory of these kedoshim.

May their blood be avenged, and may HaKadosh Baruch Hu bring nechamah to their grieving family and all of Klal Yisrael.
