Trump Tell Congress ‘We are bringing back our hostages from Gaza’
n a recent address to a joint session of the United States Congress, President Donald Trump emphasized his administration’s ongoing efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He stated, “In the Middle East, we are bringing back our hostages from Gaza.”
This declaration comes in the context of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, established in January 2025, which included provisions for hostage exchanges. The agreement, facilitated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, led to the release of several hostages, although many remain in captivity.
The President also referenced the Abraham Accords, agreements brokered during his first term that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations. He expressed intentions to build upon this foundation to foster a more peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
