35,000 Made Aliyah since October 7th
Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas perpetrated an unspeakable attack on the Jewish people in Eretz Yisrael, approximately 35,000 Jews from around the globe have made Aliyah according to the Jewish Agency.
These new olim are from over 100 countries, with 31,000 arriving in 2024 alone. Many are young adults aged 18 to 35 who have chosen to enlist in the IDF.
The massacre of over 1,200 by Hamas has deeply shaken Yidden worldwide. Initially, Aliyah rates declined, but by April 2024, interest in returning to Eretz Yisrael surged, reflecting a strengthened sense of Jewish identity and purpose.
Last February the Jewish News Syndicate reported that “Since the start of the war, there has been a 300% increase in Aliyah applications from France, a 150% jump from Canada, a 100% rise from the United States and a 40% increase from the United Kingdom.”
This wave of Aliyah is widely attributed to the tragic rising levels of antisemitism across the globe. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) documented over 10,000 antisemitic incidents in the United States alone since October 7, a 200% increase from the previous year.
